Huntingdon College is a coeducational liberal arts college, located in Montgomery, which is the capital of the Southern US state of Alabama and the county seat of Montgomery County, having a population estimated at a number of more than 200 000 inhabitants, during the 2009 census, fact which makes it the 2nd most populous city and the fourth most populous metropolitan area in the state.
Huntington College was established in 1854, being chartered as `Tuskegee Female College`, by the Alabama State Legislature and Governor John A. Winston, its current name being adopted in 1935, one year after it admitted its first male student, being named so in honor of Selina, Countess of Huntingdon, a notable supporter of Methodism.
